$56,900/YR to $68,000/YR Under the general supervision and direction of the Senior Code Enforcement Officer Manager, the Code Enforcement Officer reviews and approves permit applications, construction plans, site plans and design documents to ensure that they meet Oneida Indian Nation building codes, fire safety, land use and zoning regulations and standards.

Perform regular field inspections throughout all phases of construction, from planning to final certificate of occupancy.
Conduct field investigations.
The Code Enforcement Officer will also inspect properties for violations; attempt to resolve any violations; issue and post warning notices along with notices of violation, corrective notices, orders to comply and related documentation for code violations; and will provide all required follow-up functions to gain compliance, including letters, inspections, calls, meetings, and discussions to ensure compliance with applicable codes and ordinances.
Review project plans for all new buildings, alterations, additions, and demolitions.
To be successful as a Code Enforcement Officer, you'll need:
Associate's Degree in related field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of most up-to-date International Building Code.
(Preferred) Ability to organize and manage complex projects.
To be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule.
A valid New York State Driver's License.
